Description

This is a churchyard monument, specifically a large box-tomb designed in the Egyptian style, dating from 1769. It commemorates several members of the Paulett family, including James Paulett (who died in 1769), his wife Rebecca (who died in 1772), and their grandson James (also from 1769). Other inscriptions include Mary Paulett, the late wife of J. Nunn (who died in 1805), and their daughters Mary, Elizabeth, and Rebecca, all of whom died in 1775. Additionally, the tomb honors James Paulett, who died in 1837, and William Paulett, who died in 1846. This information is recorded in the Survey of Monuments in the Great Churchyard conducted around 1960 by West Suffolk County Council.
