Description

This is a Grade II listed box tomb located in the churchyard of Bury St Edmunds, dating from 1813. It commemorates Martha Hockley, who died in 1813; Frances Ann Hockley, who died in 1845; Thomas Hockley, who died in 1804; and his wife, Mary Frances, who died in 1830. The tomb features bold relief work, with large, swirling circles on the side panels, which is quite unusual.
