Description

A group of two churchyard monuments located in the Great Churchyard of Bury St Edmunds. The first monument, MON 33, is a tombstone with head and footstones dating from 1790, made of Ketton stone. It commemorates John Pizey, who died in 1790, and Robert Pizey, who died in 1837. The headstone features an open book flanked by winged angel heads. The second monument, MON 34, is also a tombstone with head and footstones, dating from 1771, and is also made of Ketton stone. It honors Robert Pizey, who died in 1794, Mary Pizey, who died in 1787, and two individuals with the initials E.P., who died in 1771 and 1772. The headstone for this monument also has an open book flanked by winged angel heads and trees.
