Description
The premises occupied by T Hale and Son, a butcher's shop, is a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered house that has been significantly altered in the 19th century. It has one storey and attics, with a two-storey wing extending to the north-east, which is made of painted brick and features blocked door and window openings, topped with a slate roof. The windows throughout the building are casements with leaded lights. At the north-east end, there is a 20th-century shop front. The roof is tiled and includes two 19th-century gabled dormers with ornamental bargeboards, as well as a crossing at the south-west end that also features ornamental bargeboards. A diagonal shafted chimney stack sits on a rectangular base. All the listed buildings in The Green are part of a group.
