Description

The balustrading located 20 yards north of the main entrance to Ickworth House is a Grade II listed structure from the early 19th century. It is made of limestone and measures 80 yards in length, marking the northern edge of the north terrace of Ickworth House. The balustrading has an elliptical shape and features square piers placed at 10-yard intervals, with each bay divided into three sections by smaller piers. Each bay is adorned with closely-set turned balusters. The structure is capped with octagonal terminal piers that have gadroon-carved urns on top. This balustrading holds group value with Ickworth House.
