Description
The barn to the south of Lodge Farmhouse is an early 18th-century structure. It is timber-framed and weatherboarded, resting on a high red brick plinth, and features a corrugated asbestos roof. The barn consists of five bays with full height studs set flat and bisected by long, straight primary braces. A middle rail has been added to the inner side of the frame. The trusses include slightly cambered tie-beams and long arched braces, although some of these braces have been removed. The roof is composed of ten bays, which do not align with the wall bays, and includes two rows of slightly-stepped butt purlins, cambered collars, and a ridge piece. There is also a lean-to addition along the south side of the barn. The building is oriented sideways to the road and is located within the farmyard to the south of the farmhouse.
