Description

Home Farm House is a house that was formerly the Home Farm to Hardwick House, which has since been demolished. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of white brick, with the front featuring panels of knapped flint. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, and it has a plain wide eaves soffit. There are two internal chimney stacks made of white brick with plain shafts.

The exterior of the house is two storeys high and has a three-window range with 16-pane sash windows that have flat gauged arches. The central entrance features a six-panelled door with a fanlight, set within a semicircular arched brick surround. On each side of the main structure, there are single-storey wings made from similar materials, each with various casement windows. The house has been reversed, meaning that the current garden front was originally the entrance front. This garden front also has a three-window range of 16-pane sashes with flat gauged arches.

An enclosed single-storey porch, faced in knapped flint with white brick dressings, features a moulded stone pediment displaying the initials TGC (for Thomas Gery Cullum) and the date 1838. The porch has a semicircular brick arch above the slightly recessed door and a small window on each side wall, both with semicircular arched surrounds in chamfered brick.

The interior has not been inspected but is said to have no outstanding features.
