Description

This is a medieval coffin located 6.5 metres to the east of the porch and one metre south of the nave of the Church of St. Andrew in Barningham. The coffin is made of stone and is embedded in the ground of the churchyard. It has a wedge shape with a raised central rib and rounded mouldings along the sides. There are remains of lettering visible on it. It was likely removed from inside the church during the restoration in 1877.
