Description
No. 3 Hatter Street is a house that has been converted into offices. It dates from the early 19th century, although there are earlier fragments at the rear. The front range is constructed from white brick, while part of the building is timber-framed. It has a slate roof with a wooden cornice featuring modillions.
The building stands three storeys high and has a three-window range, with an additional window on the first storey and a wide 20th-century shop window on the ground storey. All original windows have been replaced by late 19th-century sashes that lack glazing bars, featuring plain reveals, flat gauged arches, and stone sills. There is a raised brick band between the first and second-storey windows.
The doorway has a stone arch that is stilted and features a keystone, along with stone pilasters that are partly fluted and have impost blocks. The entrance includes a wide four-panelled door with a plain fanlight. Inside, the rear range, which is partly timber-framed, contains a section of a moulded 16th-century timber ceiling.
