Description
28A Hatter Street is a house that has been converted into a shop, dating from the early to mid 19th century. It features a white brick front and red brick sides, topped with a slate roof that has a mutule eaves cornice. The building has three storeys and a basement, with a two-window range. The first storey has 12-pane sash windows set in deep reveals with flat gauged arches above them. There is a raised stone band between the ground and first storey windows. The top storey contains 6-pane sash windows. The ground storey has a 20th-century shop window and fascia, along with a side entrance accessed by steps. There are two basement openings with flat gauged arches set within a high plinth. The interior does not contain any features earlier than the 19th century. This building is included for its group value as part of the street scene.
