Description
East Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse with an irregular form and two storeys. It is constructed from knapped black flint, some of which is squared, and features rusticated white brick dressings. The roof is fully hipped, partly two-span, and covered with 20th-century concrete pantiles.
The main front has a three-window range with small-paned sashes set in shallow reveals. The upper storey includes early 20th-century external slatted shutters and slightly arched heads to the brick surrounds. On the ground storey, there are two early 20th-century single-storey canted bays, each featuring three small-paned sash windows. These bays are made of white brick with panels of knapped flint below the windows and have tented slate roofs.
The central entrance consists of recessed half-glazed double doors, framed by a fluted architrave with panelled sides, and is topped by a Tuscan portico with a projecting roof. The east wall is constructed of random flint with a red brick string course and dressings, and there is a lower service wing extending eastwards, built with the same materials.
