Description
Drury House is a house that was originally a farmhouse, dating from the 16th century, with extensions made in the 18th century and alterations around 1970. The building has two storeys and features a timber-framed structure that is rendered. It has a thatched roof with a red brick axial chimney. The windows are 20th-century casements, and there is an entrance porch with a pantiled roof and a boarded door. The original core of the house, which is a two-cell design from the early 16th century, is located at the southern end and has a simple crown-post roof that is hipped over the service area. In the late 16th century, the house was extended by three bays to the north, which included a coupled rafter roof and an axial chimney. An additional wing was added to the east side in the 18th century. Drury House was formerly known as Wash Farmhouse.
