Description

Tutelina Mill is a disused tower mill dated 1865. It features a red brick tower with three floors above the ground floor. The cap frame is intact, but the cap roof, winding gear, and sails are missing. The machinery below the curb is largely intact and includes an iron upright shaft, a mortice (wood and iron) crownwheel, an iron spurwheel, and one pair of millstones, while the second pair has been replaced by a crusher. An auxiliary power source, a Crossley oil engine, is still present. This mill is a good example of a small, late windmill and is one of the few tower mills in Suffolk that retains the potential for full restoration.
