Description
Slades Farmhouse is a late 16th-century farmhouse with a two-storey, three-cell plan. It features a timber-framed structure that is rendered, topped with double Roman tiles. There is a 19th-century extension on the north-east side with a pantile roof. The farmhouse has two internal chimney stacks, one of which is located at the south-west end, both with plain shafts. The ground floor includes three-light casement windows with cross-bars, while the upper storey has smaller two-light casement windows, also with cross-bars. The extension has two two-light casement windows with bars to the lights. The entrance features a six-panel door with raised fielded panels, two of which are glazed. Inside, the frame is exposed, showcasing plain but high-quality timbering, with reversed braces at the corners and some blocked original windows. The roof was raised in the 18th century, and the lower wall-plates are visible throughout the upper storey.
