Description
49 Whiting Street is a house dating from the early to mid 19th century, likely designed by William Steggles. It is constructed of white brick and features a slate roof with a wide, plain eaves soffit. The building has two storeys and a three-window range facing Whiting Street, with one of the windows being blank. There is also a single window with one blank on Westgate Street. The windows are 12-pane sashes set in plain reveals, topped with flat gauged arches and stone sills. The central entrance door has six panels and is framed by a plain brick surround with a semicircular arched head, a blank fanlight, and a moulded wood doorcase. The interior has not been inspected.
