Description
No. 18 Westgate Street is a house dating from the mid-19th century. It is built of red brick and features a slate roof with ornamental ridge tiles and an ornate brick cornice. The house has two storeys, a cellar, and attics. It has a three-window range, with sashes that include margin glazing bars set in plain reveals. These windows are topped with segmental brick arches that have hood-moulds and ornamental cut and shaped soffits. A double-cabled string course in moulded red brick runs between the storeys. The central entrance features a six-panel door with a wooden doorcase that includes panelled reveals, pilasters, and a cornice. The interior has not been inspected.
