Description
The railings on the east side of the Church of St Edmund in Bury St Edmunds date from the 19th century. They are made of cast iron and are attached at one end to the corner of No. 18 Westgate Street and at the other to the Church of St Edmund. There is a 20th-century opening for a car park. The railings are low and feature rounded spear heads, linked at the bottom by a bar with miniature spears and at the top by a bar with spiked balls. The plain brick plinth and square pilasters, which have stone caps, are mostly rebuilt.
