Description
Nos. 54 and 56 High Street is a timber-framed and plastered house dating from the early 17th century. It has one and a half storeys and a three-cell plan, topped with a thatched roof and featuring an internal chimney stack. The front includes a central canted bay window with small panes, flanked by two three-light casements that have hood-moulds. There are two plank doors with applied strip decoration in a 19th-century Gothic style, accessed via short flights of steps. The building also has two dormer windows with two-light casements, showcasing remains of square leading and ornate trefoil heads. The structure is divided into two cottages.
