Description

A small headstone located to the east of the porch in St. Peter's Churchyard, dating from the late 17th century, holds local historical significance. It features a bowed front and a raised surround adorned with scrolled ornamentation. The inscription on the gravestone reads: "Here lieth ye body of William Sakings, he died ye 28 of March 1689. He was forkner (falconer) to King Charles ye 1st, King Charles ye 2nd and King James ye 2nd. Aged 78 years."
