Includes: Nos.1, 2 AND 3 NORTHGATE STREET. Offices, formerly a house. Early C19, on an older site. White brick; slate roof with a paired modillion eaves soffit and plain brick bedmould. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and cellars. 4 window range to the Angel Hill frontage: 12-pane sashes in deep reveals with stone sills and flat gauged arches to the 1st and 2nd storeys; the ground storey windows have semicircular arched heads and diminished side lights. Doorway with a plain pilastered Ionic doorcase, C20 door and rectangular fanlight. The Northgate frontage has a 7-window range, all 12-pane sashes in deep reveals with stone sills and flat gauged arches, arranged 1:2:2:2: and divided by plain pilasters with Tuscan capitals. 2 doorways in similar style to the Angel Hill frontage with C20 doors. INTERIOR: no earlier features inside: the cellars and the whole building date from the early C19. Nos 1 to 3 Northgate Street were listed on 140258.
