Description
Nos. 22, 22A, 23, and 23A on Angel Hill in Bury St Edmunds are a pair of shops on the ground floor with two flats above. They date back to the 17th century and have undergone later alterations. The buildings are timber-framed and rendered, topped with a tiled roof that has a gable at the rear. They stand two storeys high with attics, featuring two gabled dormers in the roof that contain two-light casement windows. The upper storey has four sash windows, each with a single vertical bar in flush cased frames. The ground storey has shop fronts that were added in the 20th century. Inside part of No. 23, some main beams and plain flat joists are exposed.
