Description
Garden House is a structure now used as a refreshments kiosk, originally built against the former north wall of the Great Court of the Abbey. It dates from the early 19th century and is designed in the Regency Gothic style. The building is constructed of flint with stone quoins and features some stone blocks on the front. It has a single pitch slate roof and a range of four windows, which are later 19th century sashes with vertical glazing bars only. Sections of replaced brickwork below the windows indicate that the original windows were deeper. The building has a central door, and above the windows and door are shallow pointed-arched plastered niches with red brick surrounds.
