Description
The Dell is a house located on Elms Road in Freckenham, dating from the early 19th century but with an earlier core that may be from the 17th or 18th century. It has two storeys and three windows. The structure is timber-framed and plastered, featuring plaintiled roofs with end and rear chimneys made of red and gault brick. The windows are small-pane casements from the 19th century, adorned with broad moulded and shouldered architraves. The ground floor includes French windows that share similar detailing. There is a pair of 19th-century panelled entrance doors, with the upper panels being glazed and flanked by Doric pilasters. Additionally, there is a timber-framed porch from the 19th century in the Picturesque style, which has glazed arched side panels and a swept gabled plaintiled roof with fretted and lobed bargeboards topped with a spike finial.
