Description
Linden House is a house that has been converted into offices, dating from the early 19th century. The front is finished in stucco, while the sides are constructed from rubble flint. It features a slate roof with a wide paired modillion eaves soffit. The rear range is made of rubble flint with red brick dressings and also has a slate roof with a wide plain eaves soffit.
The front of the building has three storeys, while the rear has two. It is adorned with 16-pane sash windows that are set in slight reveals across the entire front. There is a raised and moulded band in a cornice style that runs between the first and second-storey windows. The central entrance door is slightly recessed and is framed by a doorcase with columns that support a plain segmental fanlight.
On the north side of the rear range, there is a single central sash window on each storey, which slightly projects forward. The ground storey window has 12 panes and is segmental-arched with margin glazing, while the upper window has 12 panes with a slight arch above. Above the ground storey sash, there is a wide brick arch featuring a stone keystone inscribed with the initials B.C. and the date 1813. The interior has not been inspected.
