Description
The Gate House, wall, and gateway to St Andrew's Castle is a former lodge built in the early 19th century, designed in the Gothick style. It is constructed of red brick and features a white brick castellated parapet along with a stone string course. The building is single storey and has a three-window arrangement, consisting of 2-light 20th-century casements that include horizontal glazing bars, set within chamfered brick reveals complete with stone drip-moulds and sills. There are five thin cement pilasters evenly spaced across the front. To the left, there is a panelled entrance door situated in a semicircular-headed rendered recess, which connects to a high red brick garden wall. This wall features semicircular blank arcading and wrought-iron gates positioned between octagonal piers that have stone string courses and castellated stone tops. The interior has not been inspected.
