Description

22 High Street is a late 18th century or early 19th century timber-framed and plastered house, now roughcast. It has two storeys and features a two-window range, with casements partly containing leaded lights on the first storey and horizontal sliding sashes without glazing bars on the ground storey. The off-centre four-panel door is framed by a narrow architrave and has a shallow hood above it. The roof is tiled and gabled at both the north and south ends. A later 19th century extension was added at the rear, which has a slate gabled roof. This building is part of a group that includes No 15 (The Vicarage), the wall to the Vicarage, No 16 (Galloway House), Nos 17 to 22 (consecutive), No 23 (Church Farmhouse), No 26, and The Parish Church of SS Peter and Paul.
