Description

The Baptist Chapel is a mid-19th century building made of white gault brick, featuring a simple classical facade with three bays and broad brick pilasters topped by a pediment. It is dated 1859 and stands two storeys tall at the front. The facade has a three-window range with casements that include glazing bars, set in plain reveals with gauged brick arched heads. A central double door with four panels is topped by a semi-circular gauged brick arch and a fanlight with radial glazing. The north and south sides of the chapel each have a five-window range of long casements, also with glazing bars and set in plain reveals, featuring semi-circular gauged brick arches. The windows are positioned between wide pilasters. The roof is slate, complemented by a brick dentilled eaves cornice.
