Description

The White House is an estate cottage built around 1840, likely incorporating a core from the 18th century. The building has one and a half storeys with attics and features five windows. It is timber-framed and rendered, topped with a thatched roof that has prominent bargeboards decorated with a carved rope pattern on the soffits. The cottage has axial gault brick chimneys with square flues and bases, both adorned with square quatrefoil patterned tiles set in sunk panels. Gabled thatched casement dormers are present, along with 19th-century mullioned windows that have hood-moulds and wrought iron casements featuring hexagonal and diamond panes.
