Description

This barn, located 40 meters southwest of Number 1 (Chain House), dates from the 16th or 17th century. It is likely about 8 bays long and is constructed from timber framing with weatherboarding. The southernmost bays feature a tall plinth made of red brick. The roof is thatched, and there is a thatched gabled midstrey on the east side, positioned at the second bay from the north end, which now has a pair of stable doors. The west wall of this bay still has the original barn doors. Additionally, another bay towards the southern end likely had a second entrance when it was originally built.
