Description

The Great Finborough War Memorial Cross is located inside the main entrance to the churchyard, near the Church of St Andrew. It features a wheel-head cross on a rectangular column, which is raised on a three-stepped square base. Made from pale grey granite, the memorial stands approximately 2.1 meters high.

The main inscription around the front face of the wheel of the cross head reads "FOR KING AND COUNTRY/ AUG 4 1914 JUNE 28 1919." The names of those commemorated from the First World War are listed on the front face of the column. Additionally, there is an inscription on the south face of the column that reads "3 SEPT 1939/ TO/ 2 SEPT 1945/ (3 NAMES)."
