Description
The building is a disused malting structure located immediately northwest of Malting Farmhouse, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a slated roof, rising to two storeys. The main range has segmental-arched slatted openings and includes two boarded doors at the upper level. At one end, there is a square kiln topped with a pyramidal roof and a cowl covered in iron sheeting. The kiln still contains its furnace, part of the surrounding semi-vaulted coal store, and an intact tile floor above. To the south of the kiln, there is a one-storey stable addition, also made of red brick, with a pantiled roof.
