Description
Greenfields is a house dating from the late 17th century, which was renovated and extended at the rear in the mid-20th century. It features a timber frame and plastered exterior beneath a thatched roof and has one and a half storeys. The building includes mid-20th century single-paned casement windows and two gabled dormers. On the right side, there is a mid-20th century battened door and a gabled open porch. An internal stack is present, with an addition for bread ovens that projects slightly forward under a lean-to roof. The structure has poor quality studding with straight primary braces. The main room contains on-edge elm joists, all numbered, while the right-hand cell has slightly heavier joists set square. The roof is a clasped-purlin type, with the section to the right of the stack featuring a ridge piece, indicating it is probably a later addition.
