Description

Upper Spring Cottage is a house dating from the 16th century or earlier. It has a three-cell plan and features a lobby entrance. The building is one storey high with attics and is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior. The roof is thatched and has a half-hipped design at the left-hand end. There is an axial chimney made of plastered brick. The windows are mainly 20th-century casements, with some 19th-century small-pane casements. The entrance door is boarded and located at the lobby entrance. Although the interior has not been examined, it is believed to be an open-hall house.
