Description

Church Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with alterations and additions from the 18th century and later. It features a long main range with a service cross-wing on the left and an additional gable on the right. The building is timber framed and mostly covered in roughcast render, with a plaintiled roof, except for the outer slope of the service wing, which is pantiled. The farmhouse has two storeys and an attic, with both gables supported on plain brackets. The facade includes a moulded eaves cornice and various casement windows from the 20th century. A central two-storey canted bay is present, along with a flat-roofed ground floor addition to the left that has mid-20th century French windows. To the right, there is a late 19th-century canted bay featuring a nine-paned sash window. The entrance door is from the mid-20th century, and there is one flat-roofed dormer with a mid-20th century standard window. Inside, there are two internal stacks with plain oblong shafts, but the interior has been considerably altered, with very few timbers exposed. The parlour contains a heavy wooden dentil cornice dating from the mid-18th century.
