Description
Occold Hall is a farmhouse located on Occold Eye Road, with the front block believed to be dated 1845, while the older work is at the rear. The front block is constructed of white brick and features a hipped slated roof. It is two storeys high with a symmetrical facade comprising three wide bays. The facade includes flanking pilaster strips, with the centre bay set slightly forward. The side bays contain inset sash windows under flat brick arches, with 6-paned windows (featuring margin glazing bars) on the ground floor and 12-paned windows on the first floor. The centre bay has two narrow single-paned sash windows with semi-circular arched heads. The doorway is set within an arched recess and features a 4-panel door with a plain semi-circular fanlight. There are various stacks with white brick shafts. The rear of the building is timber framed and plastered, with roofs that are plaintiled and glazed black pantiled. The structure consists of two main ranges along with a further one-storey addition at the rear. The interior has not been examined. The previous Occold Hall, which served as the manor house, was located near the church and disappeared around 1800.
