Description
Oakwood is a building that was originally three houses, which were converted into one in 1980. It dates from the mid-18th century and features a timber frame set on a brick plinth, with a plastered and colourwashed exterior. The roof is covered with pantiles and the building has two storeys with a three-window front. There is a late 20th-century brick porch to the right of the centre, topped with a sloping plain tiled roof. The windows include two late 20th-century leaded casements on either side and three on the first floor. The roof is gabled and there are two chimney stacks on the rear slope, although there were originally three. Inside, the building has close studded timber framing with arched braces at the corners, and features two brick fireplaces, down from the original three.
