Description
This house, located immediately east of Oakcroft, dates back to the early 16th century and was later extended in the mid to late 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It features a timber frame that is plastered and has thatched roofs. Originally, it was a small two-bay open hall that was extended to the right to include a parlour and a lobby entrance. The building has one storey and an attic, as well as two storeys.
The hall on the left retains a cross passage with a boarded door. There is a 20th-century two-light casement window in the hall, and a garage addition in front of the service bay. The parlour addition has a 20th-century gabled porch on the left, two-light casements with glazing bars, and a moulded frame on the first floor. The eaves and ridge are taller, featuring a filleted axial ridge stack on the left. The left gable end has a two-light attic casement. At the rear, there is a cross passage door and a two-light attic window above the hall, with the parlour extending further back.
Inside, the cross passage retains two doorways leading into the service end. The hall has an inserted axial binding beam and reverse curved bracing in the service end wall, though the roof has not been inspected. The parlour contains a bar and an ogee stop-chamfered axial binding beam, along with curved tension braces in the end wall. Oakcroft itself is not listed.
