Description

Dagwood Farmhouse is an early 17th century or earlier farmhouse, constructed in three phases. It is characterised by its L-shaped plan formed of two short ranges, with a lower, two-cell service range added later. The farmhouse is timber-framed and plastered, with a thatched roof. A 19th-century eyebrow dormer contains a small-pane sash window. An internal red brick chimney, dating to the early 17th century, is positioned between the two main ranges, distinguished by a diaper-pattern tiled frieze at its base and three detached octagonal shafts. Most of the windows are early 19th century, featuring small-paned, horizontally sliding casements. A 19th-century four-panelled, part-glazed entrance door is sheltered by a 20th-century thatched porch on posts. The service range incorporates an 18th-century red brick axial chimney and a 19th-century boarded entrance door.
