Description

These are two houses located on Wellington Road, dating from around 1730, and altered in later periods. The houses are timber-framed with a rendered and colourwashed finish, and a red-brick skin to the south side of number 36. The roof is covered in a mix of red and black-glazed pantiles. The houses are one storey high with a dormer attic. The principal elevation contains a 19th-century plank door on the extreme left, and a 20th-century plank door on the extreme right; number 35 also features an additional 4-panelled door. The windows are predominantly late 19th-century casements, with four 2-light examples and one 3-light example. The roof is gabled with four gabled dormers, each containing 19th and 20th-century 2-light casements, and a central ridge stack. Inside number 35 (only), there is late 17th-century timberwork that has been re-used in a 20th-century setting, along with a rebuilt fireplace.
