Description
24 and 26 Church Street are two houses dating from the early 17th century, with later alterations. They feature a roughcast and colourwashed timber frame and have a pantiled roof. The buildings are two storeys high and present a three-window range. There are three doors, each with eared timber surrounds: the door to No. 24 is a four-panelled door from the 20th century, the central door is a three-panelled door from the 19th century, and the door to No. 26 has a glazed panel from the 20th century. The ground floor has three 3-light casements, while the first floor is jettied and has applied 19th-century moulding over the bressumer. There are two 3-light casements and one 2-light casement from the 19th century on the first floor. The roof is gabled with a central ridge stack. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
