Description
White House Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century, built in several phases. It features a timber frame with 20th-century textured render and has pantiled roofs. The building is two storeys high, with part of it also having an attic. The main range consists of two sections, with the right section being lower and narrower. At the junction of these sections is an end-jettied wing, and to the left of this is a 19th-century single-storey lean-to addition made of painted brick. The windows are mainly mid-20th-century casements, while the lean-to has 19th-century windows. There is a 20th-century half-glazed door in the gable end of the front wing. The main section has an internal stack with a 19th-century shaft, and the main ground floor room features good close studding. The front wing includes solid arched braces to the bridging beam and tie beam, the latter being cambered, and has a queen-post roof.
