Description
This is an 18th-century barn located 30 metres north-west of Broomvale House, aligned east-west. The barn features five bays and is constructed from timber framing with weatherboarding. It has a double Roman pantiled roof. The walls show straight primary bracing and include a significant amount of reused oak timber from an earlier building. The tie-beams are arch-braced, with some braces replaced by knee braces. On the north side of the central bay, there is a gabled weatherboarded midstrey, also topped with a double Roman pantiled roof. There are various attached 19th-century outbuildings nearby.
