Description
The Beeches is a house built around 1840, featuring two storeys and an asymmetrical facade that is four windows wide. The building has a double pile plan and consists of nine bays, which are divided by flat pilasters that have simple mouldings at both the capital and base. Each pilaster supports an elliptical arch made of gauged brick, creating a blind arcade that runs along the entire frontage beneath the eaves. The roof is hipped with two spans, covered in slate, and has internal chimneys made of gault brick.
The windows are located in alternate bays and have flat arches of gauged brick, with small-pane sash windows at the ground storey that extend down to the floor. The entrance features a Tuscan portico porch with a flat entablature. The entrance door is recessed within panelled jambs and consists of three panels, with the upper panel being glazed. Above the door is an oblong fanlight with radiating bars.
