Description

Hill Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with a likely earlier core. The main range has two storeys and features three windows. It is constructed from timber framing and plaster, topped with a plaintiled roof. The 19th-century bargeboards have spike finials. There is an internal end chimney on the left side from the 17th century, which has a sawtooth shaft made of red brick. Another axial chimney with a sawtooth shaft is located in the rear range on the right. The first storey has three-light casements that were renewed around 1980, and there are a pair of splayed bays with slated roofs at the ground storey. At the right-hand gable, the tiebeam extends out in a manner typical of the late 16th or early 17th century. At the rear, there is a lower service wing that probably dates from the 16th century. The interior has not been examined.
