Description
Plumtree Cottage is a 17th-century house with a three-cell plan, featuring one storey and attics. It has a timber-framed structure that is plastered, topped with a thatched roof. The house includes a 17th-century axial chimney made of red brick, which was recapped in the 19th century, and an eyebrow casement dormer. The windows are small-pane 19th-century casements with two and three lights. There is a 20th-century entrance porch that has a thatched gabled roof and a boarded door. Inside, the complete timber-framing is exposed and is typical of 17th-century work, with back-to-back fireplaces located in the hall and parlour. A rear outshut and gable chimney were added, and the house was converted into three cottages in the 19th century.
