Description

Low Farmhouse is a former farmhouse, likely built in the early 17th century. It has two storeys and attics, featuring a three-cell lobby-entrance plan. The structure is timber-framed and plastered, with a pantiled roof that was originally thatched; however, the rear slope now has concrete tiles. There is an axial 17th-century chimney made of red brick, with its shaft rebuilt in the 19th century. The windows are 20th-century casements. The lobby entrance has a boarded door from the 19th century, and there is another 19th-century entrance door with six panels. Until the mid-20th century, the house was divided into two cottages. The roof is a two-tier side-purlin design.
