Description
Common Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse built in two phases, with a later 1.5-storey dairy wing to the left. It is timber framed, roughcast rendered, and has a thatched roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring a two-cell layout. The windows are casement types from the 18th and 19th centuries. There is a plank half-door to the left and a half-glazed door to the right. A central axial stack is present. The left ground floor room has a ceiling with chamfered joists set flat and a bridging beam inscribed 'FS 1690', likely indicating the date of the floor structure, although the quality of the framing above suggests it may be older. The section of the house to the right of the stack is a later addition.
