Description

Oak Cottage is a former farmhouse that was later converted into two cottages. It dates from the late 16th century to early 17th century and was built in two phases. The structure is timber framed and plastered, featuring remnants of old panelled plasterwork at the front. It has a pantiled roof and stands two storeys high with an attic, arranged in a three-cell form. The building has four windows, which are 18th to 19th century casements, and two doorways, each with a plank door and a mid-20th century gabled porch. There is an internal stack and a gable stack on the right side. Inside, the cottage retains exposed framing and the original newel stairs.
