Description
Willows Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century, with an early 17th century range that is set forward to the right and was originally detached. The building is timber framed and encased in 19th century red brick, with the left gable end whitewashed. It has a roof covered with concrete plain tiles and stands two storeys high with an attic. The layout follows a three-cell lobby entry form. There are three windows featuring three-light large-paned casements with whitewashed flat arches. The gabled porch, made of whitewashed brick, has a 19th century half-glazed door. Inside, there is an internal axial stack and a small external stack to the right, which is set forward of the roof ridge. The later range is also timber framed, with parts plastered and parts encased in brick. In one ground floor room, there are geometric carvings on the heads of the storey posts and a crenellated bridging beam. The interior was not examined during the re-survey.
