Description
This barn, located about 40 meters southeast of Sudbourne Farmhouse, dates back to the early 17th century. It features a timber frame construction that is weatherboarded, rendered, and has corrugated sheet cladding. The roof is steeply pitched and also covered with corrugated sheets. The barn consists of four bays, with large double doors positioned to the right of the center. At the rear, there is a pantiled lean-to outshut behind the two central bays. Inside, the barn has full height studding, with tension braces extending from jowled corner posts to the studs. The interior includes arched braces connecting to cambered tie beams, except on the left side, which was originally floored. The wallplate of the open bay is cambered to allow for higher access. The purlins are clasped by collars and halved principals, and there are arched windbraces present.
